# Fake Eyelashes Co.

Upon logging into your newly registered account, an example business with sample data will already exist, "Fake Eyelashes Co.'. You can examine the data provided for this business in the Business Data tab, on the left of the screen. You can play around with the data or create dummy adjustments in the Adjustments tab, without it affecting your other created businesses.

# Setting up Your First Business

It can sometimes be useful to separate your adjustments- this is why we allow users to create multiple businesses within an organization. Creating a new business is very straightforward:

  1. Log in to your organization with an Organization Admin role. This allows you to make administrative changes to your organization.

  2. Navigate to the Admin > Businesses tab, on the left of the screen.

  3. Select the Create Business button and enter your business details.

    • Period covered start controls the periods you wish to work within. It’s a good idea to start with a period that you have already completed manually. This is because you’ll be able to compare the EasyAccrue generated report with your current reports, to ensure that all data has been input correctly and that your opening position is correct.
    • Journal format is the format your journals need to be in, for entry into your accounting system. For example, if you use Xero, select the Xero option.
  4. Select Submit to create your data. Your business is now created and selectable in the Business selection drpodown on the left.

  5. To create adjustments, you still need to upload your relevant business data. Navigate to Business Data > Nominal Codes and select Download File. Fill in the appropriate data using either a text editor or Excel-based system, then upload this file using the Upload File button. Repeat this for the Categories and **Balance Sheet Codes ** business data tabs.

You're now ready to import in your existing adjustments! See Importing your Existing Adjustments for more details.
